In the Customer Value Club on August 27th, 2021, the star guest was Ilpo Tolonen, CEO of Docrates Cancer Hospital, discussing critical customer value.

Ilpo Tolonen has been the CEO of Docrates Cancer Hospital since 2017. He has over 30 years of experience in collaboration between public and private healthcare, including leadership positions in the international pharmaceutical industry in Finland, the United States, and the Baltic countries.

Located in Helsinki, Docrates is Finland’s and also the Nordics only private full-service cancer hospital. While the majority of its patients are Finnish, about a quarter seek treatment from abroad. Serving patients from over 60 different nationalities, Docrates plays a significant role as an exporter of Finnish healthcare services.

Docrates’ services are designed to complement the public sector. Typically, a patient seeks a second opinion or desires prompt access to examinations or treatments at the cancer hospital.

Below, you’ll find a recording of the morning session where Ilpo discusses, among other topics:

What customer value can a private cancer hospital create in a country like Finland, which has a robust public health and medical care system?

How does the customer appear on Docrates’ board agenda?

How does Docrates develop and maintain its competitive edge?

The recording is in Finnish.
